This Years Goals And Aspirations

Allright, the weathers warming up, the fishing gear is all serviced, the boats been serviced and tidied up, most off the chores around the house have been knocked over in the winter months, time to start planning special trips and targets :1prop:

What are the goals and aspirations of the Fishraider crew this season.

I would love to catch a Marlin from the Pogoboat, a decent jewie, more dollies on fly, more kings from pittwater (especially on fly) and more work on bread and butter species, bream, flathead whitiing on fly

Who else has spent the cold months gearing up and planning a first of species or improving a PB and what are they :1fishing1:

Regards POGO

Well :)

the new boat comes in about 2-3 weeks 585 Streaker so cant wait to put the 10 hrs and get the service done then REALLY open her up :biggrin2:

my goals are FINALLY a marlin from the new boat and to get my old man onto one as he has never been for a good offshore fish yet and is a bit sceptical about it, at least a couple nice dollies on light gear is always fun too!!!

The mrs is having the bubs late december/early January so that will cut into fishing time but i am not complaining :yahoo:

Suppose over all... just have some fun get out fishing when i can and have a good time with mates!!!!

Wayne

oh yeah and another nice fat jewwie would go down well too!!!!!!!!

1/ I am still after that larger Jewfish, anything over 10kg and I would be punching the air. 4 or 5kg and there is still a big smile on the face.

It would be great to have a Fishraider Jewfish night.

2/ Would like to get among a few snapper

3/ Capture a Marlin from or two

While attempting the above, continue to enjoy fishing for flathead and bream in the Hawkesbury and tangle with some larger kings on light gear to get a new PB.

Excellent idea Martin.

My targets/wish list are:

1 - First legal king

2 - Jewfish from the beach or anywhere but I wll be primarily landbased

3 - A Yellow Fin of any size

4 - A Marlin would be nice but for some reason I'd prefer a 'fin...sashimi may be the reason :biggrin2:

I have the exact same wish list as yourself, right down to the sashimi part!

I also would love to catch a decent mako...

My main goal is to catch Massive marlin from my trailerboat.

This will be realised in 2 weeks time when we take her out of cooktown to live on the ribbons and lizard Is for 2 x 8 day stints.

I would dearly love to catch a grander(still aint got one over 800 odd lb last 3 years) but you never know, we just may crack it this year, and all the more fun/dangerous/adrenelin pumping in a trailerboat :biggrin2:

Also like to catch a big Dog tooth whilst up there.

Something over 50lb that wants to drill us would be nice.

A big queenie and a crackin GT would be a bonus if bigger than my PB but they are not the main target.

Hope all your dreams come true people.

BUENNA PESCA !!!

After last season where I got a number of blacks, a sail, largish dollies and cobia on conventional tackle, I'd like to do it all again but this time on fly :074::074:

Realistically, I'd like to get a decent jew and a spanish [both over 10kg], spend lots of time on the water in good company and catch a few more anythings on fly

Geez, where do you start :tease:

Firstly a 50kg+ Dogtooth has been a lifelong dream :biggrin2:

A big dirty black over 700lb

A big Wahoo

A serious GT

A coral trout on a popper

There are so many more but there's not enough diskspace on this forum :074::074::074:

my list is pretty simple

-A tiny little ass sailfish, one that takes like 3 minutes to wind in, just to cross him off the list.

-A spearfish for the boat, More so the objective of the other two guys I fish with, but once we get this monkey off our back we can move on to bluer currents.

-Something odd to happen again, like seeing the sperm whales again, or having a marlin ripped outta my hands by another hungry mako. These oddball events make our trips all the more memorable.

Changa, that would be super. A grander black stand up from a trailerboat would be The Ultimate

Getting more and more excited as the trip gets closer.

Reel destroying Doggies amongst other beasties await us :yahoo:

Red,

If you and Changa fail up on Ribbon, I know just the place for that doggie - getting a boat there is a bit of a problem though

Tight lines & hope the trips all good
