Fixing a small hole in the transom

Hi all,

I removed a fish finder transducer from the transom of a boat I just purchased as it was in the wrong spot. I now have a hole which goes completely through the transom and I'm not sure how to fix it.

I have watched some youtube vids on how to fix the small screw holes which I am going to do with an epoxy I bought from Whitworths, but seeing the other hole is about a 10 cent piece in diameter I'm not sure if I'm meant to somehow plug the hole with something wood and then glass and gelcoat - or if I have to just glass it.

Any tips or links on how to get it fixed would be extremely appreciated.

Thanks

Geoff

Mate,

I did a similar repair job to mine when I changed sounder/transducer.

Just a tip I got a plastic syringe from the chemist and filled the epoxy/resin into the syringe and then injected the resin deep into the hole for maximum penetration and bond.

I worked a treat.

So about the same size hole as mine Nathan? It's a round and clean hole possibly drilled with a small hole saw or something similar.

Did you just put a backing on the hole and fill it with nothing but epoxy?

If you could walk me through how you did it and maybe a pic of the result would really appreciate it mate.

Any chance of a photo.I'll get one when I get home from work chocolate and I'll put it up.

Thanks mate
