Truck tarp/cover material for fishing rod holder/cover? Where to buy?

Hi guys. I am looking to make some customer simple single rod covers. Most of the material found in std material shops (for making various dresses) is not thick or tough enough. I would like to use something more substantial like truck tarp. Anyone have an idea where I could bumpy some? Or perhaps an alternative material suggestion?
