Guest stephanb79 Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Hey guys I was giving these jigs today by a rep today and told me snapper love them and give them ago ??? Question is has anyone use these type of jig and do they really work ???
pjbink Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Yes, they certainly do work. But if jackets are around in any numbers they will make short work of the skirts.
brad_tate Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 I have some but haven't used them too much yet - still figuring out the right conditions etc. I am told that they are good for anchoring around reefs etc, not really suited to the drift. I haven't yet tried them in Botany Bay when anchored and fishing a burley trail, but do plan to. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
NaClH2OK9 Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Lol billfisher. I've just had to buy Muppets to fit as replacements after this happened on the very first outing for my new purchase. Bloody jackets grrrr
Sydneyfisher12 Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 they work but jigs such as bottom ships are way better imo just jig them slowly with lots of long jigs and falls
eastwood1980 Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Can you leave them on rod holder while drifting?
Guest 4myson Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 They work Great ! I always put a small piece of squid or pilly on the hook aswell .
Scratchie Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 They work like a lure just bouncing along the bottom. Becareful with the assist hooks as they are connected by Dacron and have a tendency to scuff up on toothy critters after a while. As raiders have said, the jackets love em! There are way better performing lures for snapper than those. Cheers scratchie!!!
Scratchie Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 what better lures do you recommend scratchie? 6inch nemisis, whip baits, flick baits and my all time favorite, a peeled raw prawn on a jighead!
