Ryder Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 I'm sure there are heaps of species lurking around our waterways that I haven't caught yet. I hadn't even heard of an EP (estuary perch) before joining Fishraider I've never caught John Dory, tried and failed. Maybe this winter. What's on your wish list?
SquidMarks Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 Im with you Ryder, John Dory has been my target species for 2 years now and i just cant crack the buggers!
Matt Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 Black Drummer, been wanting to catch one for years. Caught Groper, Silver Drummer, Luddies and Bream whilst fishing the stones but never a Pig. Although not strictly what you are asking, I want to get a Jewie off the beach. Caught quite a few on lures in the harbor and other rivers but never managed one off the beach. As I spend a great deal of time chasing Trout, I would add Brook Trout. Despite being a Snowy Mountains native and fishing for Trout all my life I still don't have a Brookie to my name. Cheers Windy
Sydneyfisher12 Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 ep was one i was chasing for a while and the caught 2 in two days at the same spot
fragmeister Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 Yes, John Dory is on my list too. Winter is coming so it's time to try again
ambrose607 Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 Never caught a flounder but I believe there in the Georges where I frequent .Weirdest catch was a long tom at Port Kembla
daniel ogden Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 EP and a jewie of any size, if EP's fight anything like bass id love to catch one.
mikei000 Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 A kingfish .. Of any size haha been chasing them for 3 years and can't get one
NaClH2OK9 Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 Meter king (now that I've ticked king from my own boat) or a Cobia is top of my wish list
adamski Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 I'd love a kingie or a jewie, but I've also yet to catch a salmon- think I might try hit them next.
SgtBundy Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 Legal king or any jewie - they start at 60lb right? Actually a land based snapper would be something on my list - have caught a near legal one but mostly just the bait stealer toddler ones. Would be good to pull a decent sized one somehow.
Guest 4myson Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 HAIRTAIL !!! Can't wait for the social to come around .
GreyNurse Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 I've never caught a salmon. A mate I was fishing with caught a 3 kilo model at Tea Gardens a few years back. Cracker fight. I'd love to have the feel of that experience.
locodave Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Blackfish - don't know why, just want to catch one! GT - one day
Guest no one Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Marlin and a Yellowfin Tuna, that's the hit list for this year! And I'll be out most weekends trying to make it happen! Just a note - last time we did one of these lists (think it was the New Years resolution one) I put a legal king, the next day I caught 2! So fingers crossed!!
NaClH2OK9 Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 I'm with you Ed. Ticked my new year box. Time to up the stakes
mike2153 Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Next species I want is hairtail. Might even start thinking about trying for a Jew, haven't ever caught one or tried but how hard can they be!
Rami Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Yellow fin tuna. Marlin, King, Jew, legal snapper, the list go on.
Jewhunter Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Black bass, Spot tail bass & Rooster fish I've ticked off all of my other boxes for fish that I wanted to catch. It's a very long list!
