It will be for a 7ft 3-6kg rod.Was thinking the 2500 with 8lbAlso looking at a cheap beach combo Okuma Fish Australia Surf Combo - 12'Sticking cheap need work. so hard to get work these day's lol Edited May 12, 2015 by Deathlyklown

Guest Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Most good 2500 reels will suit your needs and 8lb braid is perfect. The beach combo is ok if targeting the smaller species like salmon and tailor etc
Witha Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Reel sounds good for the bucks, nice all rounder with that setup. It'll get you on the water again that's for sure Okumas lifetime warranty is pretty solid, so for beach use that's a good thing any issues or damage from the harsh environment and they will probably swap it out, other bang for buck reels are the good old shimano sienna, tough as nails and easy to service your self, saves a few dollars in those cash strapped times. Deathlyklown Posted May 13, 2015 Author Posted May 13, 2015 (edited) Ok so I ended up withDaiwa Revros 2500 with some 8lb braid and for the surf Rovex Air surf 12' 6-15kg Fin-Nor Biscayne 80 with 30lb mono Worked out cheaper because of specials and from what I can gather I got better gearThoughts?Thanks for the advice as well Edited May 13, 2015 by Deathlyklown
