Lowrance hds 7 touch losing bottom signal

Hi guys,

So yesterday I went out to Browns(450m deep). My sounder gave me trouble all day and couldn't pick up the bottom. I have a lowrance hds 7 touch gen2 with transducer hst-dfsbl.

The settings I had were:

-installation = hst dfsbl

- 50 Hz mode

- fishing mode = deep water

- ping speed = 3

- sensitivity = 90%

- scroll speed = 25-50%

Do these settings look correct to you? Would you have a page up on configuring Sounders? What are your settings?

I'd say the sounder is not powerful enough. 450m is mega deep for the average sounder to get to.

Thanks roylo.. Yeh I was hoping on 50hz mode it could do the trick

At the sounder night we ran a few months back there was similar issues raised. I'd think a hds7 could go that far though?

No hope reading the bottom out there....1 khz transducer is what you need to punch the depth

Thanks guys. I did notice occassionally I would pick up some bottom.
But definitely it wasn't clear.
