thefisherman6784 Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 G'day raiders Headed out early today with Jordan and his brother for a fish for bream in rozelle. Started out getting heaps of nice bream on the marina and some smaller ones in really tight structure I was using the powerbait crabby and Jordan and his little brother where both using zman grubZ There where heaps of bream around, then I lost a really nice one in the structure Moved on towards the fish markets and picked up a few bream and flatties on the way Then stopped for lunch then, on the way back, walked past so pylons, cast my crabby next to it, first twitch and BOOM! Lucky the fish swims away from the pylons, then the fight begun After some very sizzling runs and huge head shakes and about 20mins of fight, I land a kingy!! On 6lb leader and 1-2kg gear!!! Awesome fight landbased, I measured the fish next to the rod and when I got home, measured the rod I couldn't believe my eyes! If the brag mate was right, the fish measured 70cm!!!! After a few pics, he was released It was a very skinny fish but very long That was about it for the day, an awesome day Cheers Gianni

NWHC Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 Well done what a day, that king would have been fun on the light gear.

thefisherman6784 Posted May 27, 2015 Author Posted May 27, 2015 You caught a 70cm on 6lb leader and i was reading other post people having problem landing 80+cm kingie on 40lb leader lol. Skills plays alot in bring the fish up i guess Thanks mate well lucky when I hooked it, the fish was a huge dead weight slowly moving away from structure. This is when I predicted a monster flattie or jewwy, but then a blistering run made a king the possibility. I was very lucky to land that fish Cheers Gianni
GreyNurse Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 Mate, I think that Kingy was more like 72cm. Whatever, well done on 6lb. Takes a bit of luck, yes, but a lot of nerve and skill. That's also born out by the other fish caught that day. It's great to have those magic days. They keep the spirits up when you have days that aren't so good. Hope you catch many more.
