Mullatt Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 Hi all, I recently bought a new Stacer 399 Proline Angler with Honda 30hp & side console. Assumed gauges would have come with an hour meter, but forgot to ask and of course once it arrived....no hour meter. Haven't even bothered to ask the dealer where I purchased from, seeing its a 4 hour drive for me. I have seen a few after market and genuine (mainly Yamaha) meters around and was wondering has anyone fitted one after purchase? If so, would love to hear what type, how easy to fit, where you purchased it, is it any good, where you mounted it etc etc Thanks in anticipation Dave
Geoff Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 I have yamaha , came with the boat , they are a multi purpose & do a number of functions , I don't think they are cheap to purchase. Suggest u Google , there should be a few to choose from . As a guide , Bias used to sell one for $96.00 They are fitted in to the dash & wired to the ignition system Geoff
stevefish Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 (edited) You can get a simple one that will fit under the engine cover, I had mine fitted during a service. Can't remember the cost but under $100 fitted. It's battery powered and has a wire wrapped around the plug lead. Should be a straight forward install. Edited May 28, 2015 by stevefish
Nolongeramember Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 You can look up motocross or dirt bike hour meters. They are small and should be able to connect under the engine cover as well. Probably your easiest and cheapest option if your happy with that style.

Mullatt Posted May 30, 2015 Author Posted May 30, 2015 Thanks all for your replies (Geoff, Stevefish, Roylo, roadrunner) much appreciated. Honda unfortunately doesn't make a genuine product, but it seems the simplest and cheapest option is the one that Stevefish noted. Roadrunner, how is the one you offered wired up? Assume that price doesn't include fitting lol
batfishing Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 To wire up there are two connections, 1 to earth, the other to power, which you generally connect to the run position on your ignition key, It's easy to connect, we can help you with a diagram, and connectors etc Ian......Roadrunner Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
