Krispy ! Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Finished uni and rolled down to the piers for a session. Was quiet at the start but eventually half a block of pilchards worth of burley got them on the chew. Some trevs were in the trail but very timid, resorted back to 4lb and it done the trick Picked up a small salmon around 50cm which was released Got 2 more trevally after that and was blown away on 4lb by what would have been a big kingy on his lonesome. Headed home just as the sun began to set.
GoingFishing Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Great result mate for an after uni session Did u take the trevs home for dinner ? Ps, excuse my ignorance, where are "the piers"?

ambrose607 Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 I was there last Friday night only sight seeing beautiful spot. Told my daughter next school holidays we'll pack some lunch and a telescopic rod and catch the train in for some fun and a cheap day out.

Its a nice spot to take the kids, better on weekdays when there arent any crowds
ambrose607 Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Yeah Krispy nice area. If we catch anything we'll return it or give it away it's a long way back home to take fish without an esky or similar by train. I hope to tick off a few species on my haven't caught list. Maybe yakkas, leather jacket. Can you get squid there during day time?

Can you get squid there during day time? you sure can, at the beginning of the wharf up to about half way you get good numbers of arrow squid and cuttlefish, just work the bottom along this area. yakkas, leather jacket will definitely be there as well as trevally salmon kingfish bonito etc.
