boattart Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 I currently have halogen floodlight on my boat that put out a lot of light but draw too much power and even the switch heats up so looking to replace them with LEDs. I have seen a few and was tossing up between the 4 LED or 6 LED Narva lights. One puts out 1200 Lumen and the other 2000 Lumen. I understand Lumen are a measure of light can someone give me an idea wether 1200 would be enough or should I got the brighter ones.
njsconst Posted June 8, 2015 Posted June 8, 2015 Mate I installed a single Deck Tech 5x LED 15W (750 lumens) on the top of my rocket launcher to light up the back deck on my 22ft boat. It does it easily, actually probably a little too bright. Have a look at the link. https://www.whitworths.com.au/main_itemdetail.asp?cat=123&item=31835&intAbsolutePage=1 If you go for the twin 1200/2000 lumens you'll need to the 30+ sunscreen when its dark and a welders helmet. locodave Posted June 8, 2015 Posted June 8, 2015 I had the hella Sea hawk lights and they were awesome!
locodave Posted June 8, 2015 Posted June 8, 2015 1200 lumens is a lot mate. You would only need one really if it is for the deck.
