cameldownunder Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 Son and I started bit earlier then usual, Arrived at the water 7:20. We were hoping for some jackas around Balmoral head, but did not find, so we moved to Saw and Pigs to see if any there. On the way there, just at the height of Middle Head we encountered a pod of about 7 dolphins going direction Manly. At saw and pigs, no jackas to be seen. Did let my son have a try with the handline if he could find them. While I was hooking trevallies around 25 cm. Was hoping for some bigger ones without luck. After my son had hooked and released his share of trevallies, we decided to move on. Despite being a bit windy we ventured outside. First just off / around south heads, just to encounter octopus that liked out bait. We had many snags that after a while misteriously unsagged without any loss of hook and sinkers. Then to the colors, but I guess the current was too strong, and I think we didnt made contact with the ground. To round up our tour a quick flick at Middle Head, where we caught a few Red Easter Scorpion fish, which were all release. The day was much more windy, outside, then what I expected.
Linc Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 We fished the colours on sunday and did quite well with some big mowies around, you needed 4-5oz sinkers though. Had the same experience as you at balmoral and sow and pigs though
FishingScent Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 Went on a charter from kiama on Sunday scored some big ones to 53 cm Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
