Yowie
Headed over to Deer Park early this morning, threw out some burley and waited. One hit from an undersized tailor, then the little reddies started up and ate anything and everything. None above 20cm, some were taking the bait as it was sinking - pillies, squid strips, fish strips. The squid grabbed a fish strip and I slowly retrieved the line to just under the boat, when it let go and swam down to the depths, so I dropped over a jig and hooked up in short time. The jackets turned up so I fished for them, probably threw back the same number I caught as they were too small to keep. No yakkas about, so I sent out a small sweep as a livie, all it did was get some swimming practice. Pumped some nippers at low tide, and waded the flats for the 2 flatties, but that was for about 2 hours until the tide came up too high to keep wading. Also released a legal flounder and a 30cm flattie.
