fishhed
can anyone give me an idea of a reliable sliding float rig for live baiting kings n stuff from jetties? plus, for live baiting yellowtails are circle hooks the way to go? thanks in advance
Guest
You are going to use a leader and it should be around 8ft long of up to 100 lb so just add a torpedo float straight onto the leader and it will stop at your swivel or knot of choice then use a 6/0 - 8/0 hook of your choice at the other end and from the stones I would use a strong J hook but if circle is what you like go for it but not my favourite from the shore. Torpedo Float and if big baits like bonito or frigates try a and when balloon is used just tie 6kg mono straight to your balloon then tie to your swivel or ring at the top of the trace and that is as simple as it ever gets. Two ways to hook livies including yellowtail, slimies, frigates and bonito make sure above the lateral line if hooking in the back just below dorsal fin

ambrose607
Hi Mr Swordy would you also rig live poddy mullet as per the bottom picture?
Guest
Hi Mr Swordy would you also rig live poddy mullet as per the bottom picture? Mostly mouth hooked for smaller fish and that is through the top lip only with the hook point always facing up
