Carp fishing in Centennial Park

Hi guys - I've seen online that there is a volunteer group involved in managing the populations of pest species in Centennial Park called Grass Roots.

http://www.centennialparklands.com.au/about/volunteering/carp_management_public

From what I gather these guys go out once or twice a month on a designated day and fish the ponds for carp to help control the population.

Anyone know about this or ever been involved?

I'd love to give it a go one weekend as the park is just behind where I'm living and it might be a nice way to enjoy fishing when I don't want to make a big day of it.

Haven't heard about that group, my cousin was part of a research group which caught the carp, took measurements, weight, sex and colour then tagged and released them.

She caught some massive carp

Thanks for the heads up. Might be a good opportunity to scratch off another new year's resolution (catch a freshwater species in Australia), I wonder how you can apply to join...

Hey Adamski, Send me a PM if you want some help on carp spots etc. I have some insight in to this and might be able to provide some locations/pointers depending on what you need.
