Batemans bay area

hi everyone,

im really looking to aim for kingfish this summer - i have the boat the sounder and all the gear -

i am looking for locations (general area) or advice on how to find them.

montague and Jervis Bay are locations ill be going to on holidays ect over summer - but with my shift work its about 2 - 2.5 hours to get to the bay then and launch - so its perfect for a day trip - on the road, by 4:30 launch about 7ish gives me a good day fishing and home at a reasonable time -

i seen boats last year with kings from close off the heads -

would love to search and target them closer in rather the then FAD. -

from the reading and research i have been doing -is it best to search for reef and hard ground and sound/ burley from there/ look for bait balls?

any help and direction

thanks

Hi Reese,

When your coming down, give me a couple of days notice and I'll try and put my boat in as well and we can team up. I'll show you the areas i normally search for them. They do tend to turn up all over the place but if your looking for areas close in Moruya Heads, Broulee Island are good areas to look at. Otherwise try trolling a mix of lures early morning to the north from yellow rock to North Durras then as the day goes on try out a bit wider in the grounds we've discussed before, using live baits and jigs. In the end it's easier to show you than tell you about it. Hope this helps...........

Dave
