BearSawyer Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 (edited) G'day I was wondering where the best spots are in Narrabeen lake and what lures to use. I have been there very often but it hasn't offered many fish. is it a very good place to fish? Edited September 6, 2015 by BearSawyer
iamthecowgodmoo Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 It's a great place to fish for all of your "bread and butter" species plus the occasional jewie. Type "Narrabeen" into the search bar at the top right hand side of the page, this will yield plenty of results. Best of luck.
Razzell Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Narrabeen lake is certainly a good place to fish, if you know how to fish it. A good place to start is this guide: http://www.fishraider.com.au/fishing-articles/narrabeen-lakes.php If you're fishing from the shore with bait, the caravan park is a good bet. With lures, I like the back end of the lake. However, this area is only really good in Summer. The back of the lake gets choked up with weed in the colder months making lure fishing hard. I fish it in the summer on the kayak regularly and have a great time with the good sized bream and flathead.
BearSawyer Posted September 11, 2015 Author Posted September 11, 2015 thanks for the advice! I have gone from a kayak at the bridge near woollies for jewfish at night, but there was absolutely nothing there. someone had told me to fish there as there was a deep hole in which the jewies dwell, but I couldn't find it
Razzell Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 It drops off pretty quick around the island, so maybe they were talking about there? From what I hear about the jewfish there, they only occasionally come in. Have a chat with the guys in Narrabeen bait and tackle - they should give you the low down on Jewies there.
