gregh1 Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 Hi Raiders, I have a good spot to catch live yakkas but have not been able to find a good spot for live squid. Any help would be appreciated! PM me if you know of a reliable location. Thanks in advance. Hobbsie
kiwicraig Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 Nothing reliable but I have caught a few out by the ladders beach. There is a spot that is supposed to be good, but the time I went to try it the water was quite cloudy and I got zero squid. The spot is the seaward side of rip bridge over the were beds in the hardy bay side. Let me know if it works for you. For reliable squid I head over to Pittwater.
locodave Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 Hey mate, I don't target squid but form what I always read, go over the weed beds behind the pill boxes. The other side. That is where I have read that they hang out.
Belligero Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 drift from the rip down towards paddys channel. Or even paddys channel itself. Actually you can get them anywhere in Brisbane waters so there's no "spot" like there is with the yakkas. Current flow, water clarity and time of day play the biggest part I have found. First place I would go would be that drift from the bridge down river.
