finin Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 Gday all, woke up to a cloudless sky and hardly any wind. Got ready and headed out and planned to get home hopefully before the change. Went through the gates a half metre se swell greeted us but nothing to fear. Had to rub my eyes as for once the artificial had no boats on it. Turned right and headed to around 70M. Very light easterly and current had us going ssw at 1/2 knot. Fish bit well with only mowies, biggest at 50 the largest nanny I have ever seen at 42 and a suprise pearl perch that went 45. Was contemplating giving everything else away for the pearly. Funny we always only seem to get the odd one in the same spot. Never really noticed how similar in appearence a pearl pearch and nannygai are in shape. Give me the colours of a pearly over a snapper any day. Did not catch a flatty all day and every single one of our snapper and there were plenty.... undersize. Watched the grey come from north and thought we are going to get smashed but there was o ly a light downdraught in front which meant we only got sprinkles. So stuck at it and nothing much more appeared except for a leatherjacket. Jackets = home. All in all a great morning pitty for the next few days as the fish are there.
Yowie Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 At least you returned with something to eat.
