perch Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 I caught a beardie off Newcastle breakwall today and I was wondering if any good eating and if there is a size limit if any good eating
ambrose607 Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 Please tell me your talking about a fish and not a lizard LOL. What's a beardie?
Blackfish Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 I would guess Perchs fish is a http://australianmuseum.net.au/largetooth-beardie-lotella-rhacina Ling/ Beardy etc. OK if you can get them big enough.
adamski Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 Ling is used as a substitute for cod and haddock in some chippies back in the UK, supposed to be pretty good. Can't vouch for the Aussie version though.
NaClH2OK9 Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 (edited) If blackfish is correct on species the +1 on Adamski. UK ling is fine eating. They grow pretty big. Edited September 30, 2015 by NaClH2OK9
