DVS7OY Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 Hi Fellow Raiders, Look like it's going to be a cracker of a weekend and time to brush off the cobwebs from the boat. I usually fish around Botany Bay and though it might be time to take a look at Long Reef as I've seen many reports of good fish being produced and have never ventured that way. I've got a 490 Freedom Sport with 75hp and was looking for some advice on - Distance from Sydney Heads From the many GPS marks out there how large is the Long Reef area What's the depth around the reef Thanks in advance Matt
fragmeister Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 Long Reef is 9.25 ks from North Head. The reef is large and varied and encompasses a number wrecks. I put it at a couple of square kilometer's but that's just a quess. I would say 22 to 40 meters are the average depths you will be fishing. Long Reef is at it's best in Summer so keep that in mind.
