VViCKiD Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 (edited) Hi guys, I've just recently installed a new TM260 and it appears to start losing bottom at 20 knots. Is this expected ? And will this affect my performance when I'm say trolling at depth at about 8 knots ? My unit is a Lowrance HDS 7 Gen 2 Touch and I have the setting "Airmar M260 (5K)" selected for the transducer. Thanks in advance Edited December 7, 2015 by VViCKiD
njsconst Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 I just recently upgraded to a TM260 and water tested it on the weekend. Mine was giving a perfect picture at 20knots. I would suggest dropping the transducer height by 5mm. If your still not happy drop it down in small increments until your happy.
oz_brett Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 I was thinking along the lines of giving it more tilt if you want to watch the bottom while trolling the top as long as you remember it is not displaying whats directly below the boat.
VViCKiD Posted December 7, 2015 Author Posted December 7, 2015 Thanks guys. I've lowered it 1cm lower. So Hopefully it fixes this problem. If that doesn't work, I'll try planing around with the trim at various angles while at speed. If that does fixes it, I'll place an extra shim to angle it Will keep everyone posted
