I'm looking to buy a 5 to 5.5 meter open fishing boat and seeking for your advise or suggestions to what I could buy for around 35k..

Depends how open you want. We have a 5m Quintrex CoastRunner which we love which is in that price range. Small enough to drive in 800mm, creep in 400mm, walk in 200mm, but big enough for inshore trolling in most conditions. Easy to launch and retrieve solo when needed, with a drive-on trailer and a second mate and a decent ramp, a piece of cake to manage.

What do guys think of Formosa classic, tomahawk or the sea jay boats. Has anybody been on one or own these boats..

I had a Trailcraft 540 Profish several years ago.

Good solid boat. Side console. Equivalent to the Top Ender.

Only sold it as I was getting into game fishing and the thing would bang around when running wide. Was fantastic fishing inside and within the harbour.

You would get a great Seafarer V-Sea (5 meter) for less than that money. Not an open boat a cuddy cabin but the best in that size.
