Hi all,

A little late however a mate and I fished the Hawkesbury on Saturday and once again managed a few fish taking the record to approx 12 Hawkesbury outings in a row where fish have been caught.

Surprisingly we caught 2 bream and flathead at night while trying to catch bait just around the corner from Brooklyn ramp.

As the sun was coming up we decided to fish flint and steel on the run out tide, we did reasonably well there considering the first 4 baits that were dropped magically transformed into the following:

- eel

- stingray

- eel

- port Jackson

It was at this point we questioned whether we made the right decision "should we have stayed in bed". Being ones not to dwell the call was made " one more pest and we are packing it up " then bang, bang, bang, bang the bream were on. We threw back a few keepers as we generally only keep enough for a feed for 2 families.

As the tide began to run harder the dreaded Hawkesbury half spin began. So after and hour of untangling lines and re rigging snags we decided to change spots.

We now found ourself facing directly at Juno point first bait down BANG a nice 40cm break comes up the next hour or so was pretty hektik fishing 4lb we got dusted on a few big bream and brought up a few more reasonable bream.

Then once again the Hawkesbury river half spin found us and we decided to call it a day.

All in all we battled the wind, the spin and the 1m swell at Juno point but still managed a few fish.

And most importantly the streak is still alive!

Also for any fishing the river over the next week personally I would be staying down river around Juno & Flint.
