allen_f Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 (edited) For those of us that frequent the Hacking. By chance did anyone see this shark? If not this is pretty cool! http://www.iflscience.com/plants-and-animals/all-white-great-white-shark-leucism-washes-australia Edited January 25, 2016 by allen_f
Stimo1076 Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 I don't think its funny, I thinks its pretty sad to be honest.
night_rider Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 (edited) Didn't realise there were baby great white's swimming around the Hacking. :/ Interesting that the condition of that model differs from albinism... Edited January 25, 2016 by Marky Wants to Fish
Dr Funk Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 It's incredible that it got to that size. It will be interesting to see the research paper that comes from it as I believe it is the fisrt of it's kind to be documented. Sad that its dead though but good to see it picked up by fisheries.
boattart Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 There was a lot of publicity last year I think of a Blue Marlin tagged including video with the same Leucism condition. A white shark of that size would be very young so will be interesting to see what other information fisheries can gather from it.
Camo1808 Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 (edited) I agree too that this isnt cool as it looks like in the picture that its fin is missing. Is this a sad result from culling or inhumane activity? Very sad to see Sent from my SM-G920I using Tapatalk Edited January 25, 2016 by Camo1808
boattart Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 If you follow the links you will see that the fin is simply bent up under the body. The fishes condition has nothing to do with human activity but all about nature.
Camo1808 Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 Ahh ok cool must of overlooked the part about its fin thanks for clearing that up. I never mentioned its condition has something to do with inhumane activity i mentioned from the look of its fin. Cheers Sent from my SM-G920I using Tapatalk
NaClH2OK9 Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 (edited) Mark is correct about the Marlin. http://www.fishraider.com.au/Invision/index.php?showtopic=77367 Edited January 25, 2016 by NaClH2OK9
