Hey Raiders, does anyone know of a fly fishing clubs around the Hunter/Newcastle areas?

I know there used to be one in Newcastle but I believe they have now closed down.

The Central Coast Fly Rodders have a website, but it seems to be a bit neglected, does anyone know if they're still going?

Shane Newcastle has a flyfishing club. I used to chat online with a couple of members and have done flyswaps with a few.

Check out the info below

NEWCASTLE FLYRODDERS

Contact: Mark Cafe, Newcastle, NSW.

Email: davidq@turboweb.net.au

Newcastle Flyrodders was formed by a small group of very enthusiastic fly fishermen from all walks of life. The club was formed with the idea of helping further the sport of flyfishing and creating a place where beginners and experts alike can gather to share their experiences and knowledge for the benefit of all. Club members fish more in saltwater (due to our geographic location) but generally can't wait for the next sweet water sojourn. The club actively encourages catch and release fishing but respects the rights of all members to keep legal fish for the table. The club also produces a monthly news letter with local fly fishing tactics, flies and recipes. Monthly meetings are held first Tuesday of each month at the Charlestown Bowling club Pacific Highway Charlestown. Start time is 7pm.

Hope this post is not outside guidlines can one of the moderators let me know

Cheers Trev, I will shoot them an email and see what's happening. Haven't heard back from the Central Coast club yet.
