Hi Guys,

Cheers for the add.

My partner and I are heading to Burrill Lake in early March for a fishing weekend away without the kids.

Any tips on the area, where to head, what bait/plastics to use?

Any advice would be apprciated, as we are only visiting so we don't know the area overly well.

Thanks again all. :yahoo:

Not sure on Burrill, however I fish St Georges Basin all the time. Latley we have been having a lot of luck drifting bays with prawns on the bottom and I have gone out at night casting surface lures in the shallows for a few nice taylor - though a word of warning, when attempting to pick up a fish in the dark, make sure your getting the fish and not the lure! :18:

hi mate, spent a lot of time in burrill.

in the lake there are some great size flatty that love the berkerly pumpkin seed lure. also there is a tackle shop right on the lake that sells fresh prawns. they are always a hit.

Fishing from the beach is unreal and also off the rocks at Dolphin Point. Use fresh bait and have a go.

Cheers mate, i have few different types of plastics, and it looks like i might have the right colour too. We'll be grabbing some fresh prawns too while we are there. We are there for the long weekend so will be hitting up a few different spots. Will be all landbased as we don't have a boat, but just hoping to get a couple of decent flathead, gotta take at least one home to the 9 year old to eat, or this mumma will be in big trouble.

Cheers for the response.
