BioDegradable fishing line

I was told to fish 1m above ground to avoid getting Shovels and catfish on the hook.

My idea is to have main line, swivel, trace of 1/2 meter. To the same swivel I attach a weight on a small breaking weight line of about 1.5m.

In case of hookup chances are the weight / line snaps and I dont have to worry about the weight.

My idea is to use biodegradable line and biodegradable weights for this.

Am I going a bit too green here?

Any Idea where to get the Bio-Line from. ( PM only )

Anyone had experience withthis or is doing something similar?

How about a long paternoster,

I once read a rig with a running sinker and a small float near the bait, the rig was said to be for avoiding crabs, never tried it.

Or what you said and use cotton, losing bulk sinkers would get old pretty quick though
