harold
Was staring at my favourite rods last weekend and it dawned on me the rods and reels are literally 40 years old. What is even more scary is that the line is equally as old. Question, does fishing line have a life expectancy or do you guys just keep it until it is no more? budzsta
I'm More amazed at how over 40 years you haven't lost enough line to warrant a re spool... That's amazing... I'm sure people will say that they have a life span but if it's working for you then keep it up I guess

Guest 4myson
All depends how the rod has been stored while not in use ..Direct sunlight is what destroys your gear . I like to replace all my line every year or two (But I'm FUSSY)....
cameldownunder
My friends did put the line on a push bike wheel/rim in winter. To avoid build up of curlies. And back on in spring. I have too many fishing reels and no push bike reel.
