MarshallC
I've been targeting flathead for a while now but only really used jig heads depending on the size not the weight. What weight jig heads should I use for flatties in 2-7 metres? Thanks
bluefin
It depends on the tide. No matter how deep it is, you want to be able to get to and stay on the bottom with as little weight as possible. You don't want your lure to drop like a brick. you want as much action as possible so the lure flutters down. It's trial and error .

tackleberry
1/4oz works for me in tidal areas Edited July 2, 2016 by tackleberry
Nuttynatty
I agree with tackleberry, that suits me most times.
big Neil
1/8oz to 1/4oz will do fine unless the current is particularly strong, in a chosen location. Good luck.

Adsy91
Thanks raiders, Will get some ranging from 1/8 to 1/4 oz It really depends on what lures your using. Not only the profile of the lure but the plastic used to make it. Different lures will make a surprisingly big difference in sink rate regardless of their profile. Keitechs for example usually recquire me to go from a 1/4 oz up to a 1/2oz because the material is much more buoyant than the zmans material in the same profile. What's your "go-to" lure? Adsy91
For the swimmerz I'd use a 1/4oz to 1/2oz, the grubs you should be fine with between 1/20oz to 1/16oz for the 2.5inch and between 1/16oz to 1/8oz for the 3.5inch Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

SaltyStick
Squidgy 75mm fish with squidgy 1/0 6g jig head is the perfect match, try this and be ready for a lot of flatheads...
