Guest Guest123456789
Hi Raiders, Finished work early and cashed in some hard earned marital currency to go fishing this afternoon. Arrived on scene an last hour of the run in tide. Good light and had the spot all to myself, gotta love winter! Had my trusty 12 foot rod and 5000 reel, 30lbs braid to 150cms 30lbs fluro. Then 3 way swivel to a star sinker and 1/0 suicide hook. Bait was ridiculously expensive servo pillies. For the first hour caught 8 just undersize squire. Didn't take photos, pretty keen to get them back in the water quickly and unharmed. Man those little fish pull hard! Just after tide change landed a tailor Kept this guy for the freezer. Next up a just undersized trevally, returned. Then rounded out the session with a couple of salmon, returned. All in all good fun, thanks for reading. Cheers, Luke Edited July 12, 2016 by Guest123456789

Scratchie
Good work Luke! Always a bit of fun off the stones! Salmon are a throw back for me too! But interestingly enough, my young fella the other day used strips for bait and landed a nice snapper! I must admit I've never tried it. Cheers scratchie!!! Guest Guest123456789
Thanks guys. Scratchie heard they are great bait for crabs pots and also Mulloway. I've tried them for bait - only had success with sharks. Edited July 14, 2016 by Guest123456789

wchh
Well done on the tailor off the beach! I am just wondering:did you donate the fillet off the 67 cm tailor to a shark or a jewie? Charles
Guest Guest123456789
Thanks mate. Sure did, threw it into the gutter but not before something very powerful (probably a shark or Ray) stripped 200 metres of 30lbs braid off my line.
