youngfisher10
Hi, I'm a relatively new fisherman that is land-based and i was wondering what are some things to look out for and utilize to improve my chances? Like where to go, what species to aim for, baits etc. Cheers

youngfisher10
Umm preferably in the Georges River or Port Hacking? Wouldn't mind a little venture to the Hawkesbury though
cameldownunder
Anyone correct me if I am wrong. Since it's trevally season, use hooks size 6, small pieces of prawn as bait, small sinker, light line. Cast and, if while sinking, when the tension drops set the hook. Good Luck
Tag117
Drummer are a pretty decent land based winter species, im no expert but look up drummer/luderick/blackfish in the guides. Have fun!
dirvin21
during winter the afternoon and early evening/night are the best times to fish when the water is at its warmest
UnderFisher
Hi Youngfisher, a good place to start is off the Beach. If you can handle the cold, I suggest u Try Wanda Beach on dusk. A gang of pillies in a gutter will normally land you tailor, Salmon and if you use slightly smaller hooks u can also get bream, trevally too Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
