Snapper81
Hi guys, I'm back as always for asking your help again! I realise using fresh bait is better than frozen. My questions today are ...... Where can I find fresh pilchards? When I buy it, how have I to keep it? How many days can I keep before put it in the rubbish? After a day fishing, can I keep it again for reusing as fresh bait? I think I have ask all I need to know, but if I'm forgetting something please add the advice. Thanks for any help Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

shakey55
This is the best place I have found for pilchards. The bloke at the shop sells them fresh or salted in a way that they last very well - even after being frozen. He will even explain how to salt them down properly Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
recurve
You can buy Sardines from the Seafood shop in Paddies Markets. I believe they are the same thing or at least as good as each other.
budzsta
You could try making a poddy mullet trap. They're probably as fresh as you'll get, although they aren't pilchards haha.
amkr
Theres some warm decomposing ones in my garbage bin that you can have, my bait freezer kicked the bucket so I personally wouldn't go within 100m of them.
