JonD
Just spent a few days playing in one of these and have to say what an incredibly fun boat these are. We were the only boat out through the bar on Saturday and at first I thought what's all the fuss about these boats but the harder it was pushed the better it became. There's no such thing as a hard landing unless you find bottom!!! We charged in and out through the bar trying to get some air ( which was pretty hard in theses little heavy boats) need bigger waves!!! Out around Montague island among swell and breaking waves this thing flew with its twin engine setup. I've owned many boats over the last 40 years and been on all sorts of offshore boats, I even worked with a few marine rescue groups using all sorts of rescue boats including cats. This thing was the most fun I've yet to have. The captain magazine is doing an article on the little gunshot next issue and has just done one on another cootacraft fitted with 400hp on the back. I want one, just need to let the wife know she needs to work longer hours and sell the house. Jon
amkr
If im not mistaken the cootacraft are based on the old V17 / V19 haines hull?
JonD
If im not mistaken the cootacraft are based on the old V17 / V19 haines hull? I believe so but there is a certain regulation im told where a boat has to be modified from the original hull. Don't quote me on that its just what ive been told (not by cootacaft). My daughter wouldn't give up the wheel even after driving onto the trailer!!! By the way we had been out trying to find live paper nautilus to photograph but only found empty shells. Overdraft
Impressive looking boat. What sort of top speed did you see out of the 90's?
