Figtree Bridge

Anyone get out to Figtree bridge last weekend? Am thinking of going this weekend...

Adrian

I might be able to make an early morning session Sunday - 5.30am to 8.30am - tides look dead low around 6am ish for Sunday by my guess

Has anyone been there recently - have any decent Lizards arrived yet

Fished figtree today from the yak. I fished the parra first thing for the good high @ 8.27am and pulled out 7 bream - not much size to them though (biggest went 34cm to fork). When the wind started to get up I went to the figtree right on dead low. More small bream and a few flatties. Again not much size to them but they were hungry for the SP's. I got belted by something large - but once again was to busy trying to spin the yak into the right position that I dropped the mongrel. The area should improve over the upcoming weeks.

Cheers all

Riggy

There is a heap of bait ( yakkas, choppers, poddies etc ) just inside the river at the moment so the Jew should be around as well. Pack a few larger plastics as well & give the pylons a good peppering. You never know until you have a throw!

G'day Adrian - fished off the flat on Sunday and was a bit quiet - didn't see anyone pull anything out. I managed one just-undersize flatty, my mate a small bream. Wasn't the best time to fish though, being in the middle of the day, but the tide was right. Was a crappy day weather-wise, was almost blown away. Was :frozen: too - bring on summer

Just when i thought it was warming up, it gets cold again. Bring on summer definitely! Tarban Creek nearby is also a nice spot...

I have seen Tarban Creek on the map but never fished it.

Where abouts can you get good access land based to chase lizards on sps.

Please reply or PM

Right down the back of Tarban Creek, opposite St Joseph's there is a big park. Look in your street directory for street names. I have pulled some decent flathead from the back of that creek alongside the park. I have also done OK further up, but on the opposite side, which you should be able to cast too from the park!

Flick your lure right up against the timber steps leading up to the back yards...and hang on! :biggrin2:

There is access from the Hunetrs Hill side at the end of a culdesac and down a track which leads to a foot bridge going over the creek near the Mangroves.

The water quality a few weeks back was very good and it was fairly quiet despite some people walking dogs and curious "Any bites????" kids.

Great place to fly cast as it is clear on the back cast and relatively protected from the wind.

Good luck!! :1fishing1:

when r we gonna have the social there??? :1prop::thumbup:

Next good Sunday AM tide is Jan 22

Perhaps a reverse social is the go:  and BBQ in the afternoon, with an evening flick. Nov 6 or 20 or 4 and 18 Dec look good - late arvo/evening lows. Just a thought :biggrin2:

Maybe wait for the new year for the warmer water.

Great idea.

Lets arrange a firm date and have a social. Count me in.
