Weiry
Hi... I am not sure if you use a flyline managment system on a boat but they are an excellent idea. Edited December 2, 2005 by Weiry

Guest madsmc
That seems like a good idea Weiry. I don't own a boat so it's not an issue for me. How did you manage your fly line land based? Maybe a smaller version of this attached to the waist? Shane
Bucket
Ok.... so I'm not a flyfisherman, but I have to ask. Mind you I will probably kick myself when I get the answer. What are the spikes for ??
Bucket
No worries.... as the flyline falls the nozzles keep the loops seperate and stops the flyline from tangling up when you cast it again. And here I was thinking that it was a built in security man trap...

Agent X
A stripping basket sure helps heaps. I'm using a collapsible one without the "spikes" as it's easier to carry on the train/bus. But I find that the tangling usually happens to line(s) with alot of memory (esp those with single-mono core).... and they're more managable after a good stretch....
