Fishing The Blues Away

Sat morning off to the Pig, :yahoo:

Dollface and I are joined again by fellow raider Weasel's big brother chasing another King after his undersize one last Sat.

Again the swell was supposed to be big so we headed to the Wreck and we were greeted by hundreds of beautiful little yakkas. Perfect bite size for Kings! Put a couple down for livies but NADA, nothing, zilch. Matter of fact there was nothing but Yakkas.

So once we had a tank full we braved the so called swell (which turned out OK) we headed round to dear old Bluefish. Didn't bother trolling, just wanted to start washing those Livies.

No one there again, you bewdy! Anchor up, berley and those stallion yakkas come charging in. Seriously they are a fine fighting fish in their own right once they get to this size.

Three livies out on balloons and one straight under the boat plus a fresh squid and we are set for the Kings! While we are waiting we are just having a little flick around and I land a bloody big slimey. Fresh strip baits coming up! I put a little treble set on a rack raider for Dollface with a nice strip of slimey so she can chase trevors while the MEN chase the Kings.

DON'T YOU THINK I WOULD GODDAM LEARN MY LESSON. You know what happened next don't you?

Yep, that's right. Davey and I have the boat surrounded by livies but Dollface get's a bite and the reel starts screaming. Bloody Hell she's hooked a King, and away it went. The little Mitchell reel and the rack raider are going hammer and tongs with Dollface grimacing and davey and I praying. Sure enough after 10 minutes of frantic action Dollface lands her first ever legal King, 61cm and proud as a punch.

After a round of high fives we turn around and find one of the livies has been nailed. Dave springs into action and quickly brings another King alongside only for it to take one look at him and say see ya later. he got smoked in an instant. Pisser. :ranting2:

Dave is shattered so i put another yakka on and start lowering him down when BANG, it's gets smashed only a few metres below the boat. Stupid me didn't think to set the hooks, its basically just freespooling and sure enough he spits the hooks. Fornication, Fornication, Fornication! dropped two in approx 2 minutes.

Settle down again and I kid you not Dollface starts squealing again, she's onto another King. She battles it bravely for several minutes but this time it must be a bigger one because she gets smoked on the bottom!

One on board, three back in the briny! Our batting average isn't so good today.

Then to show that sometimes the stars do line up, a yakka on the rod next to me gets hammered and I'm on to another. This time there is no mistake and after a nice little fight I bring on board a nice 65cm model.

So, all in all, a great day out with my darling, a mate, a few beers and number 5 and 6 Kingys for this season.

And someone asked which is the best city to live in? The winner is Siddeney

Cheers

Chris,

come out on the Pig one day. No promises of catching one, you know how it is. But it's a lot of fun trying.

Thanks George,

it was a lot fun. Providing we land a King we can handle losing the odd one.

Fishn,

Welcome champ,

King for dinner tonight and tomorrow night!

Happy days

Pete

Joe,

if you could ever put up with the late start We'd love you to come out with us. Anyone as passionate about fishing as we are is always welcome!

Is it just us? I didn't mention it in the post but we threw back about 6 nice trevors today because we had caught the first King and once we had that on board for dinner nothing else was coming home.

Cheers

A very chuffed Captain
