Fab1
The government has played their part in destroying the environment more than any outboard ever has.The Hypocritical Pxxxxs. Does anyone know the ratio of 2 stroke outboards to 4 stroke roughly?I would think there's many more 2 strokes than 4 strokes floating about. frankS
If they made the cost of 4 strokes and injected 2 strokes a little bit closer to what a 2 stroke costs I doubt if anyone would opt for a 2 stroke. 4 strokes are way over priced and many boaters such as myself simply can't afford one. I bought a 90 hp etec in 2005 because I was working and could afford one at that stage, now a 4 stroke is beyond me. Frank
JonD
If you look at the figures and see how many hours a 2 smoke!!! is actually run and used for each year I doubt the push for cleaner running engines will really have much of any impact. When you consider how many 2 stroke lawn mowers and whipper snippers etc get used worldwide at a mich higher oil ratio it really is a bit of a joke and let's not get started on burning coal. I totally agree about the outboard pricing, looking at just my own little Yam f70 with fitting and gauges I could buy a new small car for slightly less. They are certainly expensive mate.If there was as high as a demand for outboards as there is with vehicles,I think the prices would come down significantly. Banning the outboards is only a very minor step towards a cleaner planet in the scheme of things, but a step non the less.
Guest Guest123456789
Great news. We take for granted our clean air, without more policies like these we will end up like Beijing. When I was there the smog was so thick shopping centres needed two doors with thick padded flaps to stop the smog from getting in the store and ruining the stock. It snowed heavily at night and in the morning the ground was covered in black snow.

When mine die I'm getting the new lithium ion battery models.
