Regan
hey guys, headed out to terrigal twice over the last week. firstly i went out about 1km off terrigal armed with pillies and bottle squid. started paddling out and trolled the reef on the way out for a couple of hits but no hook ups. i started my drift about 500m off the skillion only for a rock cod and a sergent baker. went out a bit further and started another drift. started getting more sergent baker so headed in closer to the red bouy. i then started getting lots of smaller flatties around the 20cm mark and 1 flounder. the flatties were chomping down the pillies so i thought i would have a bit of fun with them. i tied on a 20g microjig on light gear and got some more flatties ranging from 20-40cm. after a bit i headed over to the reef to troll my x-rap and i got 1 sergent baker and 1 tailor. second day i headed back out with same gear, the swell slightly bigger and the wind a fair bit stronder. started a drift and caught a wrasse, 1 sergent baker and 2 small snapper. saw a couple of whales further out and then headed back in. trolled the reef again and got 2 pike and 1 sergentbaker headed right into the haven to go for some squid and second cast i was onto a small squid. 1 cast later in the exact same spot i was onto another slightly bigger. about 30mins later i caught another squid this one a lot bigger and pulling drag, it measured 40cm to the head(not including tentacles) another cast in the same spot and i was on again to a smaller one. headed in for lunch and called it a day. sorry no pics right now, will upload some later

Ive found the haven in winter has less squid but way bigger, Summer you could catch over a hundred in there but they would all fit in the palm of your hand. Summer I use em whole for bait, winter a feed and the heads for bait ?
