arthur06
Hi guys, been a while since i have posted so bear with me. i went to balmoral yesterday with a small rod for yakkas, ti see if there were there. 16 yellowtails later, i was regretting not brining my big surf rod. If im Live baiting with yakkas on the bottom, where should i cast if im on the wharf? I could also go down to the beach but i dont really know. Also any other places within walking distance to the wharf is fine. Thanks guys.
Hooked-Up
Maybe to the island and fish under a float (heaps of weed and rock in close) just a matter of time until kings move past. havent fished there landbased so dont know if your allowed but would be decent spot i reckon. arthur06
And i dont think my 20lb braid would hold up against a kingy... I was thinking more along the lines of jewie or aus salmon Edited October 4, 2017 by arthur06
Rob81
You don't think your braid will hold against a Kingie but its ok for a Jewie? You know, I've only caught one of each species before so I'm not at all experienced with them both, but 70cm Jewie worried me a whole lot more during the fight then the 68cm kingie I've caught. In fact I was surprised that the king was 68cm as I thought must be smaller with the fight it gave me. But as I said, only 1 of each species to make a comparison for me.
