blaxland
Hi raiders, I currently fish out of a 4.3mtr open runabout with a 40hp suzuki 4 stroke. I recently got all my off shore safety gear and have been having a ball within say 2 Kms of the heads. I fish solo most of the time. My question is if upgrade to say 5.3 mtr Allumium plate boat will it make a lot of difference in terms of the speed I can feel comfortable with travelling outside and stability at rest. I think this is the size I can easily launch and retrieve solo. Cheers Blaxland
JonD
Personally I believe it would make a considerable difference for the better.

campr
Four years ago I upgraded from a 4.5m quintrex lazeabout to a 5.6m quinnie classic. Best move I've made with masses more room stability and comfort in the ride helped by the millennium hull. I'm 71 years old and have no trouble handling by myself. Bought with intention of going wider to browns mountain etc, but so far only been to same areas as I did in smaller boat such as the peak, 12 mile etc. My bad back apreciated the upgrade as well. Yes, bigger is better. Ron
