Here I Sit, Broken Hearted

Here's the scenario.

Sat morning, the inlaws are down from Port Macquarie (and I actually like them a lot), the sister and brother in law are over from Carlingford (and I like them too) and we are going out for a big day's fishing. Chasing Kings, team's are chosen and we are set for a big day! Hit the marina at 9.30, load the esky and ......................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................NOTHING!

The Faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxing Black Pig would'nt start! Both Batteries are as dead as a doornail, and I mean dead! Put my jump start pack on and NOTHING! Couldn't even get a spark across the terminal's with a screwdriver. :ranting2: Tried everything I know and eventually rang a leco. He arrived 2 hrs later and moled around for 30 minutes before proclaiming that the batteries are dead. (Genius) He could get new ones (400 bucks or so) sometime that afternoon. The day was shot so I said thanks anyway and he said no worries that will be $80. You Bloody Beauty! thumbdown:

So, we trudge back to the car (it's now one o'clock in the afternoon), say goodbye to the brother in law after a thousand apologies and head home.

Ring a mate who is a normal car mechanic and spill my guts about my problems. He turns up ten minutes later with 2 mother big battery chargers and off I go back to the Pig. Put them on charge and wait, and wait and wait! 2 Hours later decides to try my luck.

BANG! both the Volvo's kick into life. I've run them for an hour and, just to be sure, left them on trickle charge overnight.

So, I hope and pray that what has been my most disappointing and embarassing day ever turns into some success tomorrow! :1fishing1:

Cheers fellas and I hope you did better than me today,

Pete

Pete - you should know by now that days like that are par for the course - they don't call them money holes for nothing. let's hope its all fixed for tomorrow

Reminds me of a mate's story when after redoing all the wiring in his boat, he went to start it up and ALL the wiring shorted out - acrid smoke everywhere and back to the drawing board. Worked out in the end but it kept him off the water for another week :05:
