Berowra Waters 6/11

Went out with Heckendorfmortgage and 2 other fellows to "harvest" some of these mudcrabs that seem to be everywhere in the Hawkesbury at the moment. Put in at Berowra Waters and worked the area south of the swing moorings.

We put out a number of witches hats and a couple of crab traps with nil caught. OMG I think Stan may have been onto something. We also fished HR Prawns and soft plastics and had about as much success catching fish as we did crabs.

Not entirely a fruitful day but it sure was great to be out wetting a line again.

I think the reports about the mud crabs were from the main channel in the h'bury

Anyway I was out on Monday with a mate, no muddies (again) but we did end up with 1 Blue Swimmer, not in the traps (10 witches hats and 2 mud crab traps) but on a mullet bait on a line with the remote chance of a big jewie.

That is right all mud crabs were caught in the main channel of the hawkesbury where there was good amount of current.

I cant give away my spot, cause everyone will go and clean them out.
