Camden haven bar crossing

Well raiders last week I took the good lady and the stacer upto laurieton for a little r.n.r and stay with a mate and have a fish , Thursday was spent feeding and catching throw back whiting and dream in Watson Taylor lake and stingray creek , still quit a lot of fresh water after the rain but fun was had by all even the good lady got her fair shear but unfortunately all did not tick the size limit , my mate and I were keen to get outside but due to conditions of the Camden haven bar it was a case of sit back and wait for the conditions to ease as for a safe bar crossing, talking with the locals and spending several hrs on the breakwall watching and learning. Saturday morning with a sleepless night in hope we could get out for a fish , 6am we jumped on the bikes headed down to the wall with still 2hrs of runout tide it was looking promising so back home we peddled to load up . Boat in the water at 8 , logged on with CHMR with our destination OLD FAITHFUL, motored down to the bar and sat on the right hand side close to the southern breakwall and poked the nose out watching for a clear run . Now there is a sand bar dead centre of the mouth about 100 meters out so Getting out is one thing negotiating the bar is another. heading south east  towards point perpendicular is the go . Nose out all clear and we are off 200 meter sprint with gold in our site . Old faithful wasn’t to faithful so we went for deeper water and started our drift north of lake Cathie a mark by the name of yabbies .water temp 23 in 38 meters and the boys were on , 5  blue spot  flat head 1 snapper and a pearl perch in the esky with 16 blue spot returned to live another day , time to head back to the bar for a mid tide crossing and home to fire up the bbq and crack a tinny to end a great day ,
