Great Fun At Iron Cove

Hey guys,

Ahhh Friday, gotta love it. Shot out of the office at 6pm and raced to Iron cove to fish the run out tide. Started along the mangroves using paramax grub 3" but only got some hits which were missed. It's hard stuff fishing for bream.

So onto the 1/8th jig with gulp minnows in pumpkinseed and hooked onto a little flattie and smelly pike, ha ha and then on dark a bit mother of a hit bends the rod over but hook slips so I'll never know.

It was my best session so far on plastics and it was great fun.

Have a top weekend,

Paul

Well done Paul

The old IC is a great place to fish from the shore using plastics.

Cheers

Id love to give the IC a go but dont know where to start... you mentioned rodd park, where is this? are there any other good spots to try?.. alot is written about this place on this site im itchin to get out there

Hi Kevvie, Hi Paul,

Yeah I'd agree with Trev - IC is a fantastic place to cast SPs. Um...if you look up Parks and Reserves in Five Dock in whereis.com you'll find it's on Henley Marine Drive.

The Rodd Point area is pretty good for bream and flatties but I've found the whole area around the bay is fairly productive out on the flats. Everyone has their own favourite spots. Just make sure you wear sandshoes as opposed to sandals if you want to wade on the low tide to avoid the bites from the googlies that live in the mud that so plagued my mate Adrian the last time we went :1prop: .

On another note I have fished Rodd Point with bait a few times before and never caught anything. But with SPs I've found it to be a fairly reasonable spot. Anyone else had experiences like this?

All the best and I'll try to say hi if I see you out there (might take a while trudging through the mud!).

Mike
