Volitan
Went to Macmasters Beach on the Central Coast last night for a short session between 4:00 pm and 5:15. I was the only person I could see fishing - same on last 3 trips. i put out 2 rods with pillies and a surf popper. 2 kahawai (salmon) caught - one on a pillie chunk, one on the surf popper. Both about 600mm. I was pretty happy with results considering the time invested. i can’t help thinking results were better when I held the rod in my hand. Spiking the rods is relaxing but you do loose a lot of chances.

sam bros
Nice work mate I agree holding the rod lets you feel the fish, and increases your chances of hooking up Missed a lot of fish because it was in the rod holder
