Tysh
Went to magenta beach yesterday. Managed three sambos and one trevally.(all released) However a group of Fishos also catching salmon would not release... 2
Green Hornet
Nice looking sambo. Don't worry about the others not releasing. As long as they're not taking over their bag limit, they're doing nothing wrong.

Have to agree I think that they are to me not a good eating fish
Koalaboi
Depends on how they are cooked. Tried baking and it was horrible. Crumbed and fried was ok, curried was good, thai fish cakes also. Workmate said to soak overnight in milk. KB
saltrix
The main thing for cooking salmon to not to over cook it, but just lightly cooked it quite reasonable eating. Freezing also tends to dry it out as well. I always skin it and discard the very red meat. Try it fresh on the BBQ taking it off before it cooks right through. DaveBM
Definitely don't leave them on the bone. Bleed on capture, then fillet, skin and cut out the dark bits as Saltrix says. Plenty of flavour, so I like to do a curry or a cheesy mornay.
philrenegade
Bled, skinned and filleted, and dark meat removed as above they go ok dry smoked too!
Big g19
Good eating for the Jewies they are. My favourite jewfish bait off the beach has to be tailor and salmon slabs ?
