Poly2096
Hi all. I’ve read a few forum posts on this but was hoping I could get a few other views. I am looking at getting a Downrigger for fishing for kings in Pittwater and close offshore. We will be doing it out of a polycraft 4.5m boat. I am looking at a manual one and something that is portable. Any thoughts on my best options? Thanks

JonD
I bought a cannon stx which has a swivel base and adjustable length boom, very happy with it over the last few years. I would certainly purchase the same model again, I replaced the wire with 150lb braid https://cannondownriggers.com.au/products/manual-downrigger/uni-troll-10-stx-metric/
campr
I have used a ccannon and quite happy with it. If getting one now I would get one of those heavy duty alloy ones that a Sydney online shop has but can't say name due to site rules. PM me if you want details.
