Koalaboi
Very quiet up here after a brief flurry of flathead a couple of weeks ago. I have tried for flatties in a range of my favourite spots using plastics and live poddies with no interest at all. There are lots of chopper tailor in the system atm and while one bloke I spoke to this morning said there are some good ones amongst them, I haven't seen one come in. Not sure if the recent prawn run was any good, if it was, maybe the fish full of prawns! The last 100m of the channel to the sea is choked with sand and there is very little tidal movement in the system. The recent rains raised the lake by a bit over a half a metre. The level has only dropped a tiny bit since then when normally, it comes down much more quickly. Should stick to rock and beach for a while methinks. Green Hornet
If there is very little tidal run that most likely means the fish no longer need to hide out of the current. The fish are still there, they're just more spread out. If you have a sounder, find the bait and the fish won't be far away. Change your tactics when fishing plastics and become more mobile. If you keep covering ground, you'll get them. Edited November 12, 2018 by Green Hornet
