GoingFishing
Gday raiders Headed out today for a late session, leaving foreshore boat ramp at 9am. Conditions werent the best, but improved as the day went on. Bottom bashed wide of little bay for some flatties and a pigfish. The fish went off the bite so we moved to maroubra where we bagged a few more flatties. Headed to wide of coogee to try for some snapper and came up tight on what i thought was a good snapper. Came all the way to the surface and as it appeared from the depths i called it for a snapper only to be presented with a nice pearl perch of 50cm. Shortly after dads rod bent over and he boated another one of the same size. We did one more drift and got one more pearlie nudging 40cm. Stoaked, its been years since i boated my first pearl perch and this was my second encounter with them. Hard to come across them in this part of the world as i understand it. Thx for reading Edited November 18, 2018 by GoingFishing

Definately a pleasant surprise from my end...made the day worth it in less than ideal conditions. 21 hours ago, Scratchie said: Some quality fish there Sam! Thanks mate yes they all came in quick succession then we continued drifting over the same spot for another 30 mins for nothing ! Thats fishing they move around. 21 hours ago, rickmarlin62 said: Nice catch great eating pearlies water temp must be improving Cheers rick. I found water off cooge touching 20.2 degrees so a couple of degrees warmer than the last couple of months for sure. 8 hours ago, sam bros said: Solid catch Cheers mate 4 hours ago, Woodsy1 said: A few great fish there, I got my first Pearl Perch earlier this year, they taste beautiful Enjoy! Woodsy Very good eating mate. Wacked one straight in the oven when we got home with some herbs and tahini sauce, baked with some veggies. Also gave one to the in laws who loved it. 2 hours ago, Yowie said: Good work on the pearlies, a very nice bag of fish. Thanks Yowie i was stoked we bagged those pearlies otherwise it would have been just the flatties. Which i love so not complaining but nice to get a few new species every now and then.

Weather, water temp, ocean conditions, etc etc and sometimes all the stars align and the fish just arent there 😣
